Home/Work Defense Seminar
Our home and work defense seminars are custom tailored to the needs of each client. Although much of the key concepts and techniques are common to all, we adapt the class to the specifics of each client’s home or work environment, such as the number of employees attending or not (not everyone will be trained), size of the building/facilities (which impacts escape and avenues of approach, hiding places, etc), and expected level of threat. For instance, a pawn shop that has been robbed before vs a suburban home has different likelihood of threat incidence.
Training concepts can include, but are not limited to:
- Active Shooter: Avoid, Deny, Defend
- Weapon selection – such as firearms or non-lethal options
- Force protection/physical security measures – such as alarm systems, fences, personnel considerations, and lighting options
- Reporting procedures – incident logs, contact with law enforcement
- Security drills – how to conduct drills and what drills to conduct
- Identify people that may be a threat
- First-aid for trauma, like gunshot wounds
No gear is required for the class. By appointment only. Please click here to contact us for scheduling and pricing information.

CDG Hand to Hand Combat Course
“Wonderful experience, worth every penny! I’ll be back again.”
“I normally don’t write recommendations. But, I need to comment on the Conceal Carry class I took with Contego Defense.
This is not the run of the mill C.C. Class. This is a class designed for the individual to protect his or herself as well as your family. Safety and ability with firearms is the primary goal, as should it be yours. You will walk away knowing your firearm and being able to shoot proficiently. Classes are also available for the entry level gun owner and those who are experienced. Also, available are certifications for Utah and Florida which I plan to take. Many thanks to Justin and his associates.”
“Just took the CCL class this weekend – impressed by the 1:1 instruction during gun handling and safety drills. I feel more comfortable around firearms and better understanding of the IL laws surrounding conceal carry. Instructors are Veterans and former LEO’s with real world, applicable experience and scenarios. As a woman who has only shot in a gun range 2x before the class… I feel the knowledge I gained this weekend was outstanding. I would highly recommend this company and CCL certification course for anyone in the Chicago suburbs.”
“As a beginner, Contego helps to teach the basics, but then takes that basic level and really challenges you to reach above that. They embark years of training, knowledge, and experience during the 16 hour CCL class. At first I was nervous, but then with the coaching and patience of our fabulous instructors, I felt more at ease. I would highly recommend anyone interested in CCL to go through the Contego Defense Group! Thanks guys!!!”
